Part III nurses ratify tentative agreement

November 22, 2025

FREDERICTON – The ratification vote for Nurses, Part III – NBNU’s largest bargaining unit representing approximately 8,700 nurses – concluded at 12:00 pm on Thursday, September 18.

Nurses, Part III which is comprised of Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners working in hospitals, Public and Mental Health & Addictions, the Extra Mural Program and Primary Care voted to accept the tentative agreement with a “yes” vote of 68%.

“The negotiating team and I are very pleased that this tentative agreement has been ratified,” says Paula Doucet, NBNU President. “This is a positive step forward in improving the work and personal lives of nurses; however, we know that the issues they face won’t disappear overnight. The work continues to address their priorities.”
The new contract will immediately put New Brunswick’s Part III nurses on par with Nova Scotia’s nurses and conclude December 31st, 2027.

Details of the agreement will remain confidential at this time.
