FREDERICTON – The New Brunswick Nurses Union (NBNU) and the New Brunswick Association of Nursing Homes (NBANH) signed a new collective agreement on December 17, 2025.
The agreement, which applies to approximately 600 registered nurses working in 47 nursing homes across the province, covers the period from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2027.
The agreement includes a general wage increase of 21.75 per cent over four years, retroactive to January 1st, 2024. In addition, the agreement introduces a new premium for nurses charged with preceptorship or clinical practicum supervision.
As noted in a memo to members dated December 17th, the parties agreed to allow the nursing homes 60 days to issue retroactive pay increases (not the usual 45 days) to expedite the signing in 2025. NBNU members in the Nursing Homes bargaining unit will receive their retroactive pay increase within 60 days from December 17, 2025. The collective agreement is available to view online.
