Eligible NBNU members have until March 31, 2026 to sign a 1-year Return of Service (RoS) Agreement and submit it to their employer for the $5,000 retention benefit announced by Premier Holt’s government in Spring 2025.
This deadline applies to all eligible NBNU members, including:
- All members in permanent positions who have not received the $5,000 retention benefit and are willing to sign a 1-year RoS Agreement with their employer; and
- Any member who:
- previously signed a 1-year RoS Agreement and received a pro-rated retention benefit based on their part-time status;
- have since accepted a permanent full-time position; and
- are willing to sign a 1-year RoS Agreement with their employer to receive the remaining balance of the $5,000 retention benefit.
Note: Permanent part-time nurses that have increased their permanent part-time FTE are not entitled to an additional retention amount.
Example: A permanent part-time nurse who went from a 0.5 FTE to a 0.8 FTE is not entitled to an additional retention amount.
