NBNU First-Year Nursing Scholarship
We are committed to empowering the next generation of nurses and to helping reduce your financial stress while in school. We award three $1,000 scholarships annually to post-secondary students entering their first year of an accredited nursing program in New Brunswick.
Eligibility
You may be eligible for a scholarship if you’re starting your first year of school for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) diploma. You must also meet the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in a recognized nursing program
- Be a relative of a past or present NBNU member
- Maintain good academic standing
How to apply
Applications are due by September 30 of each year. You will need to:
- Complete the online or downloadable application form below
- Attach a proof of acceptance or enrollment into a first-year nursing program
- Submit a 250-word essay on “Why you chose nursing” and “The importance of unionism in nursing”
- Attach a certification of academic achievement (i.e., transcript) or letter of reference from a teacher
