CFNU Indigenous Nursing Scholarship
We’re a member of the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU). The national organization offers annual $1,000 scholarships to help ease the financial burden of post-secondary education for Indigenous students in New Brunswick.
Our union selects the recipient—an Indigenous student who is enrolled in an accredited nursing program and who has the potential to grow as a leader within their provincial union in their future.
Eligibility
You may be eligible for a scholarship if you’re a future Indigenous leader in nursing who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) diploma. You must also meet the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in the first year of a BScN or LPN program
- Be a relative of a part or current member
- Maintain good academic standing
How to apply
Applications are due by September 30 of each year. You will need to:
- Complete the online or downloadable application form below
- Attach a proof of acceptance or enrollment into your non-nursing program
- Submit a 250-word essay on “The importance of unionism in the work life of nurses”
- Include a transcript or letter of reference from a teacher
