The New Brunswick Nurses Union (NBNU) is committed to ensuring equal access to our website, services and information for all members, including those with disabilities. Legal compliance framework
New Brunswick Accessibility Act (2024): We are committed to meeting the accessibility standards currently being developed under New Brunswick’s new accessibility legislation, with the goal of continuously achieving greater accessibility.
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA: Our website is designed and maintained to meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards, which represent international best practices for digital accessibility.
EN 301 549:2024 standards: We are implementing the comprehensive Canadian accessibility standard EN 301 549:2024 for information and communication technology products and services.
Human rights compliance: We meet our obligations under the New Brunswick Human Rights Act to provide services without discrimination based on disability.
Our commitment
NBNU is committed to continuous improvement in accessibility and welcomes feedback from all members about how we can better serve your needs. NBNU allocates dedicated funding for accessibility improvements, assistive technology, accommodation provision and staff training to ensure sustainable accessibility progress.
