Provincial Committees
Committee work is the heart of union business. Our provincial committees are formed of grassroots members who meet on specific issues and tasks related to our collective interests.
Annual Meeting Operations
The Annual Meeting Operations Committee plays a vital role in preparing NBNU’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). They oversee the parliamentary process, ensuring that logistics run smoothly and members are actively engaged.
Their responsibilities include reviewing proposed changes to the Constitution & By-laws, member-submitted Resolutions, and nominations for elected positions — ensuring each submission meets procedural requirements and aligns with NBNU’s governance standards.
Finance
The Finance Committee provides financial oversight and strategic guidance to ensure NBNU’s resources are managed responsibly and with transparency.
Negotiating
Our negotiating committees represent NBNU members in negotiations for the three bargaining units. They advocate for fair contracts, improved working conditions and professional respect.
NBNU negotiating committees are be made up of one representative from each of the eight (8) health zones to ensure fair geographic representation from across the province. Members from each zone elect their respective representative on the negotiating team (i.e.: members from zone 2 will nominate potential representatives from the list of facilities in that zone and then vote for the zone 2 representative only). Should there be no candidate from a health zone, the elected negotiating committee shall make a recommendation to the Board of Directors for the vacancy.
